We are currently working on a project to improve the search optimisation and ranking for a French proof reader.
The website has a good domain name www.frenchproofreading.co.uk, it is built using the Bootstrap framework. It is curently a single page website with no social media links or blog.
What are the keywords or phrases?
The key search term is "french proofreading" or "french proofreader". Or is it? Is it proofreader, proof reader or proof-reader? What do people use to search?
A quick search on Google provides the answer. When searching for "french proof reader" it suggests using "french proofreader".

A sudden position drop on Google
On Wednesday 15th December 2021 the position of the website when searching for the keywords sudden dropped as you can see in the following graphic. Although it has risen a little since.

This has caused the website to now be found at least on the second page of results on Google. Not good.
What could be the cause?
According to industry reports, Google had an error that cause mass notices from search console coverage issue redirect errors and also has just completed a products reviews update. It doesn't seem likely that either of these would be a likely cause. Either some competitors have optimised and begun to rank higher or there has been a loss of some backlinks. Maybe both. Whatever the cause, it is time to ge to work.
